Our Approach to Guided Psilocybin Retreats in the Netherlands

Safe, Legal and Thoughtfully Guided

Elevated Mind Retreats is a small-group psilocybin retreat centre in the Netherlands offering structured retreats that combine preparation, breathwork, guided ceremonies, and integration support.

At Elevated Mind Retreats, our approach to guided psilocybin retreats prioritises safety, careful preparation, and meaningful integration. All retreats are held within the Dutch legal framework for psilocybin truffles and are guided by experienced facilitators in a structured and supportive environment.

We combine legal psilocybin ceremonies with breathwork, meditation, and reflective practices designed to support insight, grounding, and continuity beyond the retreat itself.

Participants are supported throughout the entire process — before, during, and after the retreat — through preparation guidance, facilitated experiences, and integration practices that help translate insights into everyday life.

Our retreats are guided by experienced facilitators who provide personal support throughout the entire process.

How Our Psilocybin Retreats in the Netherlands Are Structured

Our retreats are designed to create a calm, contained environment where participants can explore inner experiences without pressure or overwhelm. Structure, clarity, and personal guidance are central to this approach.

The Core of Our Psilocybin Retreats

Our retreats are built around three core pillars that work together to support depth, stability, and meaningful integration.

This approach is applied across our 3-Day Psilocybin Retreats, including our Women’s Psilocybin Retreat, as well as our more personalised Private Psilocybin Retreats, ensuring consistency regardless of group size or format.

Our retreats welcome participants from across Europe and internationally who are seeking emotional clarity, personal insight, and a deeper connection with the present moment.

Breathwork

Psilocybin Ceremonies

Breathwork supports nervous system regulation, emotional grounding, and a shift from mental analysis into direct experience.

Breathwork is used before and after the psilocybin ceremony to help participants regulate the nervous system, quiet mental activity, and reconnect with the body.

Our psilocybin ceremonies are held legally in the Netherlands and guided with care, intention, and attention to individual readiness.

Ongoing Support

Preparation before the retreat and integration afterwards ensure insights are understood and carried into daily life.

For more detail on preparation and contraindications, see our Safety and Support page.

Why the Netherlands Is a Leading Destination for Psilocybin Retreats

The Netherlands is one of the few countries where psilocybin truffles are legal, allowing retreats to operate transparently within a clear legal framework.

We work entirely within this framework so participants can engage in the retreat process with clarity, legality and peace of mind.

Designed for Meaningful, Lasting Change

Our retreats are designed to support more than a meaningful experience in the moment. Preparation, guided experiences and integration work together to help participants bring greater awareness, clarity and insight into everyday life.

This approach is reflected across all our retreat formats, with safety, presence and personal support at the centre.

The Three-Phase Structure of Our Psilocybin Retreats

This three-phase structure is used across all our 3-Day Psilocybin Retreats and Private Psilocybin Retreats.

Preparation

Before arrival, participants complete a personal intake and health screening and receive guidance on intention setting and preparation. This helps participants arrive informed, grounded, and supported.

Immersion

During the retreat, participants are supported through ceremony, breathwork, rest, and reflection in a calm, contained setting that encourages presence and self-regulation.

Integration

After the retreat, integration support focuses on making sense of the experience and applying insights in practical, sustainable ways. This phase is essential for lasting impact.

Participant experiences and reflections can be found on our Psilocybin Retreat Reviews section.

Who Facilitates Our Retreats

Elevated Mind Retreats was founded by Niels van der Valk after a career in the corporate sector and extensive training in breathwork facilitation.

The retreat team includes trained facilitators experienced in breathwork, trauma-informed practices, and supportive group facilitation.

Retreats are guided by two facilitators to ensure participants receive attentive support throughout the experience.

Many participants describe the facilitation style as calm, grounded, and attentive to individual needs.

Safety and Care

Participant safety is fundamental to our work and embedded throughout the retreat process.

Every participant completes a confidential health screening and personal intake before being approved. Our psilocybin truffles are sourced from licensed Dutch producers and cultivated under controlled conditions.

Retreats are supported by experienced facilitators trained in First Aid, with small groups allowing for attentive personal support throughout the experience. Medical support is accessible nearby should it ever be required.

Those seeking a more contained or one-to-one setting often explore our Private Psilocybin Retreats.

Women seeking a dedicated, female-only group setting often explore our Women’s Psilocybin Retreat.
